The image shows four people arranged side by side in a collage. From left to right, the first person is a bald man with a beard and glasses, smiling warmly at the camera. He is wearing a purple shirt, which enhances his friendly appearance. Next to him stands a person with closely cropped, platinum blonde hair. They have a neutral expression and are dressed in a black top paired with an open white shirt, giving them a cool and minimalist look. The third person in the image is a woman with short, curly hair and glasses. She is smiling broadly and exudes a joyful energy. She is wearing a purple halter top and a patterned wrap skirt adorned with golden details, adding a unique and creative touch to her outfit. On the far right is a man with a bushy beard and a baseball cap. He is wearing a sweater with orange patterns and appears to be captured in a moment full of energy, as if he is speaking or shouting, adding a dynamic and lively atmosphere to the image.

»Festivals, Events und DisCo (disabled community): Wie sind die Infrastrukturen?«

Dana Cermane, Inna Shparber, Martin Vahemäe-Zierold, Moderated by Ulrich Hartmann

Talk with interpretation into German Sign Language
Talk in German Sign Language, the conversation will be voiced for the hearing audience.

This talk will focus on the ideal infrastructures for D/deaf people at cultural events such as music festivals. Key questions: What experiences have the panellists already had in this regard? What opportunities are there to better involve the community? Needn’t the focus on this important topic be more finely tuned?

The panel will consist exclusively of people from the D/deaf community – including performance artist Inna Shparber, queer activist Dana Cermane, and Martin Vahemäe-Zierold, the district office employee responsible for queerness and anti-discrimination. The discussion will be hosted by Ulrich Hartmann, who is also presenting a Commissioned Work at this year’s festival as Ulla.
